Leo woke with a grumpy roar, "I'll get you, mouse, and nothing more!" The little mouse, with teary eyes, Said, "Please, dear lion, hear my cries! One day, I'll help you, it is true!" Leo laughed, "What can YOU do?" He let the mouse go free that day, And went back to his sleepy way.
But then one day, a net so strong, Trapped Leo, where he didn't belong! He roared and roared, with all his might, Caught in the trap in darkest night.
The tiny mouse, she heard the sound, And raced to where the lion was bound. She nibbled fast with teeth so keen, And freed the lion from the scene!
Leo smiled, "You helped me out! A little friend, without a doubt!" From then on, they were friends so true, Big or small, friendship sees you through!
