Bram, a small bear with fur the color of warm honey, stood by his window. Outside, the evening sky was a deep, soft grey. *Tap-tap-tap*, went the rain, very gently, on the glass. Bram liked that sound. It made his cozy room feel even cozier. A single lamp glowed softly in the corner, making long, friendly shadows dance on the wall. Bram looked at his toys. His little cloth bunny, Cottontail, was leaning against a block, looking rather droopy. "Oh, Cottontail," Bram whispered, "you look so sleepy."
Bram padded softly across the rug. He picked up Cottontail with gentle paws. He smoothed Cottontail's long, floppy ears. Then he tucked Cottontail into a little woven basket, soft with a tiny blanket. "Goodnight, little Cottontail," Bram murmured. The rain went *tap-tap-tap*. Next, Bram saw his wooden train, Choo-Choo, sitting on the rug. Choo-Choo looked tired after a day of journeys. Bram carefully pushed Choo-Choo into its small wooden shed. "Goodnight, Choo-Choo," he whispered.
He looked around. There was his soft cloud pillow, Floof, slumped on the floor. Floof looked like it needed a good rest. Bram gently lifted Floof and placed it on the soft green armchair, where it could be warm and snug. "Goodnight, Floof," he said, very softly. But then Bram saw his little star-shaped rattle, Twinkle. Twinkle was on the tall shelf, sparkling a tiny bit in the dim light. Twinkle looked a little bit lonely up there, all by itself.
Bram stretched up his paw. He reached for Twinkle, very carefully, so it wouldn't jingle too loudly. He brought Twinkle down and tucked it right next to Floof on the soft chair. "Goodnight, Twinkle," he whispered. "Goodnight, Floof." All his friends were tucked in. All safe. Bram looked at them. He gave a soft yawn. He climbed into his own warm bed. The rain went *tap... tap... tap...* outside. Bram pulled his soft blanket up. He closed his eyes.
